‘Sex & The City’ Sequel ‘And Just Like That’ Sets Season 3 Premiere; Trailer Teases Aidan’s Back & Carrie’s Home Plagued With Rats

Max‘s Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That will return with its third season on May 29. A new trailer (above) reveals that Aidan (John Corbett) is back, but it’s complicated. But isn’t it always?

When last we saw Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), she and her longtime love, who wasn’t Mr. Big, had a major discussion about the future of their relationship. Aidan is now divorced and raising his three sons in Virginia, where his ex-wife lives and shares in the responsibilities. During one of Aidan’s quick trips to New York to be with Carrie, his underage son Wyatt took his dad’s truck without permission and went on a joyride while under the influence of alcohol and mushrooms.

Aidan rushed back to Virginia to be by his injured child and realized he had neglected the boys while traveling back and forth to the Big Apple. Unbeknownst to Aidan, Carrie purchased a sprawling new home where he and his boys would be welcome whenever they’d want to visit. However, due to the circumstances, Aidan has to take a step back from his relationship with Carrie because they are his priority.

In the trailer, Carrie admits their relationship status is complicated and possibly begins a flirtation with a cute neighbor, according to Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). However, in another scene, Carrie and Aidan are surrounded by his sons while sharing breakfast. They’re going to be just fine, it seems, but will undergo a million challenges as we’re already used to.

Also, rats seem to be extremely en vogue on television, as The Pitt fans will surely feel at home with a huge infestation plaguing Carrie’s stunning new abode. Luckily, our quirky fashion queen has a cat overlord that will surely (?) be ready to earn some treats by dragging those rodents back under the sewers to eat pizza turtles or whatever they do down there.

Miranda also has hearts in her eyes and is crushing on a work contact, while a very married Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) becomes a work wife for Mechad Brooks’ new character. I mean, who can blame her? Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) daughter, Lily (Cathy Ang), sets her sights on a ballerina who mom brushes off as a crush. Seconds later in the trailer, Charlotte catches the pair making out, much to her shock and confusion. Yes, her baby girl is making out with a boy. She’s all grown up.

Speaking of hot connections, Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Anthony (Mario Cantone) are figuring out what their futures will look like and with whom, if anyone. Oh, and Charlotte finds her way back to a nightclub and hopefully some Long Island iced teas.

And just like that, a new chapter begins.
