‘Severance’ Cast Conducts Post-Finale Pop Up With Signature Blue Balloons Across The Pond

It looks like Kier Eagan’s eternal war on pain is unfolding into world domination.

The cast of Apple TV+’s Severance hopped across the pond  for their latest pop-up activation promoting the workplace thriller, Season 2 of which concluded March 21.

Apple released a clip of people dressed in corporate workplace attire carrying clusters of the signature blue balloons with Mark S.’s face printed on them past well-known landmarks in London such as the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, The London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Trafalgar Square. The blue hues matched the structure of the famous London Bridge as well as the water in the pools of Trafalgar Square. It seemed that most of the staged actors were congregating at one giant balloon with Adam Scott’s character’s head on it. Balloons with Seth Milchick’s face can be spotted in the end of the clip.

Surrounded by the Lumon-like employees, Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman and Gwendoline Christie, Dichen Lachman and creator Dan Erickson struck various poses after walking up to the platform on which the big blue balloon sat, with Severance written on it.

The record-setting show’s Season 2 came to an epic end with a 77-minute finale episode which sets up big stakes for its swifly renewed Season 3, news of which arrived on the heels of the finale’s release.

The first season of Severance hit Apple TV+ in February 2022, setting up a big mystery in a workplace that encourages its employees to undergo a surgical procedure that divides their work selves — or innies — and their out-of-work selves — or outies. Questions around ethics of the brain chip that bisects Lumon severed workers’ life experience and what exactly the mysterious and important work the MacroData Refinement team comprised of Mark S. (Scott), Dylan G. (Cherry), Helly R. (Lower) and Irving B. (John Turturro) built a tension that was only partially resolved with Episode 10 of Season 2, titled “Cold Harbor.” Other anchoring cast and characters include Ms. Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette), Seth Milchick (Tillman), Devon Scout (Jen Tullock), Ricken Hale (Michael Chernus), Burt Goodman (Christopher Walken) and Gemma Scout, whose innie is known as Ms. Casey (Lachman).

Season 2 welcomed several new guest stars such as Merrit Wever, who played Dylan G.’s wife Gretchen, Gwendoline Christie who played Lorne the Head of Mammalian’s Nurturing, Darri Ólaffson who loomed as the sinister Mr. Drummond and more.

Ahead of the premiere of Season 2, the core four refiner actors Scott, Lower, George and Turturro carried out an installation recreating their severed floor cubicle in Grand Central Station in New York City. Director and EP Ben Stiller was also in attendance, admiring their work from outside the glassed off room.

Severance is created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller, who also executive produces alongside stars Scott, Arquette and more. Both seasons are now available to stream in full on Apple TV+.
