Seriencamp Sets Dates For Eleventh Edition: International Festival & Conference To Gather Drama Industry & Fans In Cologne Next June

EXCLUSIVE: Seriencamp, Germany’s top scripted TV gathering, is entering its second decade and has set its 2025 dates. Spanning public events and an industry confab, the 2025 edition will run 3 June – 6 June, Deadline can be the first to report.

The organizers said the focus will be on the evolution of drama series in the streaming age, building on conversations started at the 2024 edition, which saw the bosses of various broadcasters and VOD services share plans for the future. Showrunners, writers, producers and distributors also gather at the event, which has become a fixture in the international TV calendar.

The Conference part of proceedings runs 3 June – 5 June. The last edition saw 800 industry visitors attend from Germany and international markets. “In 2025, there’s still much for the industry to talk about: from the growing importance of co-productions to the reform of film funding, from sustainable disruption through technological innovations to the new market situation, it’s clear that addressing the most pressing questions is more important than ever,” said Gerhard Maier, Artistic Director, Seriencamp Conference.

As well as the conference there are, under the “Story Exchange” umbrella, pitching and networking events for producers, writers, and creators. With a focus on collaboration and co-production, the strand is aimed at creatives looking to establish themselves in the business or take their projects to the next level. The call for projects is now open.

The line-up of series and events for the public festival has not been revealed yet but will comprise a mix of German and international premieres with the show’s creators and stars in attendance. Around 30 series are expected to feature when the program is announced, with free public screenings, panels, podcasts and other audience events.

Seriencamp has laid down roots in the Cologne, having relocated from its earlier home of Munich. “We want to establish ourselves even better in Cologne and the NRW region, build on existing partnerships, continue networking, and also seek out new local partners,” said Simone Schellmann, Festival Director, Seriencamp.

It is entering its eleventh year, marking a nice tie-in with its host city, where the number 11 holds a special meaning; 11 feathers forming part of the city’s coat of arms and commemorating local patron Saint Ursula, and 11 marks the start of the local carnival, which kicks off at 11:11 on 11 Nov.

Schellmann said: “The number 11 holds special significance here in Cologne, and I believe our 11th edition will be another important step in establishing Seriencamp as a permanent fixture in NRW’s cultural and creative scene. We are excited to continue inspiring not only series fans but also the industry with exciting content and new collaboration opportunities.”
