The Al-Azhar International Center for Forensic Astronomy and Space Sciences at the Islamic Research Academy launched, today, at the Al-Azhar Conference Center, the initiative (With Man We Begin…Building Man and Creating Civilization), under the generous patronage of His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and supervised by: His Eminence Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar and Head of the Al-Azhar International Center for Forensic Astronomy and Space Sciences, Bishop Jeremiah, Head of the Orthodox Cultural Center, and His Eminence Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Jundi, Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy and Vice President of the Center.
His Eminence Prof. Dr. said: Muhammad Al-Jundi: Building nations, as is the case with cultural building, reconstruction, and construction, is inseparable from building the human being himself, body and soul, thought and belief, behavior and culture, art and philosophy, and so on from the various aspects of human building. Indeed, none of the material building can be achieved without building Humans first.
Dr. added. Al-Jundi said that this concept is present and clear in the approach of Islam. The Messenger of God – may God bless him and grant him peace – before he built the state in Medina, over the course of more than a decade, built a generation on whose shoulders was the responsibility of building the state, preserving the religion, strengthening affiliation to it, and abolishing pre-Islamic fanaticism. Which formed a strong Islamic society, and the Meccan Qur’an has clear features in building the human being in a doctrinal and behavioral structure in which it establishes the evidence and proofs that a Muslim needs in presenting his faith and defending it before the violator or skeptic, in addition to presenting the experiences of nations, especially those nations that wanted to destroy man and overturn common sense. Humanity, and in the story of the people of Lot we have telling lessons that any attempt to destroy man and degrade his nature will be met with divine punishment for whoever wants to destroy God’s honorable building.
The Secretary-General explained that when we contemplate this The noble prophetic narration in which it was said: “This man is the building of God, so cursed is he who destroys his building.” We notice in it that just as those who want to destroy man threaten, it carries with it the sign of dissent that whoever works to preserve God’s building will have mercy and goodness. We find in the Qur’an that reviving the human soul is reviving all of humanity, indicating that as a contribution from the Islamic Research Academy to the presidential initiative (a new beginning for building humanity), this scientific forum comes in cooperation between the Astronomy Center, the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, and the Youth Committee at the Egyptian Family House, in order to Under the title: “With Man We Begin… Building Man and Creating Civilization – Towards the Integration of Sciences and Values, Building Man in Light of Modern Challenges,” it was announced that we at the Research Academy are fully prepared to participate in this intellectual and cultural construction, whether through the preachers of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif or… The Fatwa Committees or Al-Azhar Magazine, and other publications of the Academy or its educational seminars, we extend our hands to everyone who wants to benefit mankind and guide him to what is good in this world and the hereafter. The connotations of the word (building) suggest a synthetic work that requires time, effort, and components, and one of the most important components of building a human being is (religion). Therefore, many atheistic calls and skeptical tendencies have appeared in our world today, not only for the purpose of destroying a religion or a nation, but eliminating religion means eliminating man and humanity. He loses the meaning of his existence and the purpose for which he lives, as well as the faith that drives people to turn to life, work, observation, the desire for reward and the fear of punishment, and other things that a person cannot do without.
The Vice President of the Al-Azhar International Center for Forensic Astronomy and Space Sciences continued, “The second thing we want to build in man is to build a system of Islamic and human values and morals that man deals with in his dealings with his fellow man. Rather, he needs them in his relationship with God and the beings around him, and I do not know of a time when I encountered this.” There are challenges in morals and values, such as this time, in which some groups are not ashamed to declare perversion, call for it, and claim that it is a natural thing that humans are born with, in obscurity of the truth and denial of what science has proven. This is in addition to the destructive calls that fill social media sites targeting values, morals, family, and language. And customs and traditions.
Dr. Al-Jundi pointed out that the third thing we want to build in people in general and Egyptian people in particular is adherence to their homeland, identity and culture. This belonging and adherence was one of the pillars of the glorious October victory. The year 1973 AD, which we need to invest in anticipating its lessons, especially in light of difficult regional conditions, and an enemy that does not hesitate to shed the blood of children, women and innocents, expand the state of conflict, and plunge the region into a state of instability, and with our confidence in the strength of our homeland and its ability to overcome… In these crises, we need a state of national alignment and full awareness of what is happening around us. And so this initiative came about.
The Secretary-General concluded his speech by referring to the objectives of the initiative, which include: creating healthy, athletic generations who enjoy culture and preserve values, morals and principles with the support of Al-Azhar, the Church and the Endowments. And creating generations capable of creativity, innovation and benefiting from modern technology, stressing the keenness of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the leadership and guidance of His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and under the supervision and follow-up of His Eminence Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, to contribute to everything that would contribute to Building humanity, achieving the purposes of legislation, and realizing the purposes of creation, in order to achieve the desired human cooperation, coexistence, and spreading the spirit of peace in the world.
