Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis share adorable first baby bump picture as mum reveals how long they had been trying for their first child
Australian Matildas star Samantha Kerr and her fiance Kristie Mewis have share the first baby bump image as the couple begin their journey toward becoming parents for the first time.
The couple set social media alight last week when they announced the news that Mewis was carrying their first child, revealing it a set of images including their scan result in a UK photo booth.
Kerr and Mewis have been a glamour couple of the sport since they began their relationship during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where they were seen together on the field after a match between Australia and the United States.
They publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2021 through an Instagram post.
In November 2023, the couple announced their engagement and in December 2023, Mewis signed with West Ham United and moved to London to be closer to Kerr.
Mewis has now shared images of her baby bump with her parents in town to help congratulate the couple, with an Instagram post she captioned, ‘Some stuff you guys missed’.

Mewis also revealed her pregnancy to her parents Robert and Melissa who had come to visit
In a video shared with the post, Mewis made the announcement for her parents Robert and Melissa.
She handed them both presents which they opened to reveal baby clothes, with her mum gasping, ‘are you pregnant?’.
‘You’re kidding me,’ she said in shock as she embraced Mewis.
‘That was kind of fast.’
It was a touching moment that fans of the couple loved seeing them share.
‘That reaction from your parents is everything. I wish the world had more people like them. Congratulations.’ one posted.
‘Such beautiful pictures and the video is adorable. You are glowing Kristie, congratulations to you and Sam I’m so happy for you both,’ another added.
‘You have wonderful parents, their reaction to the pregnancy is something beautiful and incredibly valuable, it is respect, love, support, friendship, you have wonderful parents,’ said another.
The post was also liked and commented on by a host of Matildas and other football stars including Mackenzie Arnold and Caitlin Foord.
Kerr has been recovering from an ACL tear suffered earlier this year and is on track to return to the pitch for both Chelsea and the Matildas in the new year.
