Arab Defense Website November 14, 2024: United Engines Company (UEC) displayed several photos from its booth at the China International Airshow 2024. One of them shows the fifth generation 177C engine, which is the second stage engine of the Su-57 fighter. Previously, the prototype of this engine in Russia was called “Product 30”.
The engine has a thrust of 14,500 kgf without afterburner, while the AL-41F1 first stage engine currently installed on the Su-57 has a thrust of 8,800 kgf in normal mode and 15,000 kgf with afterburner.
In July 2023, a presentation of UEC-Kuznetsov was held at Samara Technical University during a scientific and technical conference on the prospects for the development of the engine industry. One of the slides showed the second stage engine of the Su-57 named AL-51F1.
