Robert Irwin Gets His Snake Out In Bonds Campaign — No, Not That One

Australia’s unofficial prince, Robert Irwin, is the star of Bonds’ latest underwear campaign, and, before we get into the details, I’d like to politely ask everyone to please remove their jaws off the floor.

The 21-year-old wildlife warrior has stripped down to his jocks in a campaign launching the iconic Aussie brand into the US market with its “Made For Down Under” campaign.

The campaign features the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here host and beloved Aussie rapper Tkay Maidza posing in outdoor landscapes with a host of Australian animals, including snakes, a monitor lizard and a spider.

Anyway, without any further ado, here are the shots.

There are so many things to say that I’m just going to say [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted].

Having Robert as the face of the campaign for Bonds’ US launch is an incredibly clever move for the underwear brand, especially since his father, Steve Irwin, is still so beloved by Americans.

And, the campaign has already made a splash, with PEOPLE publishing the images and an interview with the conservationist.

Speaking to the mag, Robert revealed that he didn’t hesitate when he was asked to star in the campaign.

“It was a pretty immediate yes,” the Gold Logie nominee said, noting how iconic Bonds is in Australia.

“I’m at this point in my life where I’m trying to do as many different and random exciting things, and if it’s something that makes me a little bit nervous, that I’ve never done before and it’s a bit of an adrenaline rush? That’s what I want to be doing.”

While many people would squirm at the idea of being in their undies surrounded by creepy-crawlies and snakes, for Robert, that was the easiest bit.

“Getting your gear off is way scarier than wrangling a croc!” he says.

“Wrangling animals is easy… and I had to do both. It was not on my bingo card. It felt so surreal.”

Naturally, the response to the campaign has been overwhelmingly positive (and extremely thirsty) so far.

Meanwhile, others who have watched Robert grow up in the public eye, the shoot has made them really ponder the passage of time.

In an interview with PEDESTRAIN.TV, Robert spoke about his rising status as a heartthrob.

“It’s a funny thing to navigate, isn’t it?” he said.

“All I can say is if people are listening to my message, and I’ve got a platform where I can spread a bit of positivity, that’s all I care about.

“Whatever form that comes in.”

As for what Robert thinks his dad would say if he saw the shoot?

“There’d probably be a few ‘Crikeys’ thrown around!”

All in all, great work Bonds!!! Thank you for your service!!!
