Revealed: The earliest date Liverpool can win the Premier League title after going 13 points clear of Arsenal

The earliest date as to when Liverpool can lift the Premier League title has been revealed after they extended their lead at the top on Wednesday night.

The Reds moved 13 points clear at the summit of the league table after securing a crucial 2-0 win over Newcastle – despite the absence of Arne Slot on the touchline.

Meanwhile, second-place Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest as their hopes of mounting a comeback in the title race took a huge hit.

Now, the numbers have been crunched and it’s been revealed that Liverpool could win the league as soon as April 5th – when both sides will be in action.

Liverpool will travel to Fulham on the day and, should they win all their matches up to that date and Arsenal lose all of theirs, the Reds will clinch the title.

Up to that point, Liverpool will face Southampton and Everton before travelling to Craven Cottage. Meanwhile, Arsenal take on Man United, Chelsea, Fulham and then Everton.

Should that occur, it would match the earliest title win in league history which was also set by the Reds back in 2019-20 when they sealed it with seven games to go.

Though Liverpool hold a 13-point lead over Arsenal, the Gunners do have a game in hand on the Merseyside giants.

Should they win that match, which is against Chelsea in March, and the current gap is maintained, then Liverpool can win the league against the Blues on May 3rd.

If Arsenal lose that game in hand and, once again, the current gap is maintained then Liverpool could clinch the title when they take on Tottenham on April 26th.

Meanwhile, it’s also been revealed that Arsenal will have to become record-breakers in order to close the gap on Liverpool and clinch the Premier League title.

The Gunners would have to perform the biggest comeback in Premier League history in order to steal the title out of Liverpool’s hands – given their 13 point lead.

Stats boffins have revealed that the current greatest comeback – after 27 games – was performed by the Gunners back in the 1997-98 campaign.

Manchester United had a nine-point lead over Arsene Wenger’s side, with just 11 games remaining, but still watched as the Gunners stormed past them into first.

Conversely, the next biggest gap that was closed in league history was by the Red Devils when they closed a seven-point lead on Newcastle in 1995-96.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans recently voiced their concerns that they might have to watch their side provide the Reds with a guard of honour when they clash later in the season.

Mikel Arteta’s side will travel to Anfield on May 10th, where there will be just three matches remaining in the season.

It would be the second time in recent years that Arsenal would have done so, having also provided a guard of honour back in 2020.

After sealing a historic league title, Liverpool – then managed by Jurgen Klopp – travelled to the Emirates and were given the guard of honour pre-match.
