Louis Chedid was born on January 1, 1948 in Ismailia, Egypt. But the singer, who arrived in France at the end of the 1940s, is of Lebanese and Syrian origin. From an ordinary childhood and an average education, Louis Chedid nevertheless keeps the memory of a significant encounter: that with a guitar found around the corner of the family cellar, in Paris, the city in which he had lived with his family since age of three years.
