During the months of October and November, about 211 thousand kilograms of solid waste were removed from all neighborhoods, in addition to 819 kilograms of medical waste removed during the two months. In addition, 189 1-meter garbage bins were distributed and repaired in the areas of (Abu Qir – Downtown – Al-Ajami – Al-Nasr Street – Al-Mandara), in addition to distributing 483 waste bins in the areas of (Al-Mandara – Smouha – Downtown – Sidi Bishr – Abu Qir).

The Governor of Alexandria has assigned the Environmental Control and Monitoring Department to follow up on the implementation of the residential complex system in front of the units or underneath the properties, and to increase field visits to follow up on the regularity of work progress regarding that system.

In a related context, a team of young volunteers, affiliated with civil society organizations, organized a campaign to clean the beaches, sponsored by the Central Administration of Tourism and Summer Resorts and the Directorate of Social Solidarity in Alexandria, which included cleaning Glim Beach and Stanley Beach from plastic waste that appeared after the end of the “broom” nucleus during the previous days.
