NORMAL, Ill. – As the 2024 Redbird football team takes a much-needed bye week, the program has announced its full 2025 schedule which begins with an August 30 contest at perennial powerhouse Oklahoma.
After the lid-lifter against the Sooners, the Redbirds will return home to host Morehead State on September 6, before continuing the Mid-America Classic rivalry with in-state foe Eastern Illinois on September 13 in Charleston. Following a bye week on Sept. 20, ISU will host North Alabama at Hancock Stadium as part of Family Weekend festivities on September 27.
Missouri Valley Football Conference action will begin the following week, when North Dakota State returns to Hancock Stadium for the second year in a row to face the Redbirds on October 4. That game will be followed with a trip to Murray, Kentucky, to take on Murray State on October 11 before the annual Homecoming game against Youngstown State on October 18 at Hancock Stadium. The month of October wraps up with a game at South Dakota on October 25, before the Redbirds open the month of November at home against UNI on November 1.
A road contest at Indiana State on November 8 will be next on the docket for ISU, which travels the following week to Brookings, S.D., to take on South Dakota State on November 15. The Redbirds will wrap up the regular season at home, when they host in-state rival Southern Illinois on Senior Day at Hancock Stadium on November 22.
