Australian comedian Rebel Wilson has opened up about news of feud between her and fellow Aussie celebrity Hugh Sheridan after the Packed To The Rafters actor previously hinted towards a rift in their friendship in 2024.
Last year, Rebel Wilson surprised fans after revealing she tied the knot with fashion designer Ramona Agruma in a super luxe, super intimate, super top-secret wedding Italy.
While most folks were showering the happy couple with well wishes and congratulations, fellow Aussie superstar Hugh Sheridan — who claims to have introduced Wilson and Agruma to each other — revealed to the Kyle and Jackie O Show that he wasn’t invited to their intimate shindig, hinting towards a friendship fallout with the pair.
However, it appears that Wilson has put that rumoured feud to rest, revealing to the Kyle and Jackie O show she recently linked up the actor at a New Year’s Eve party.
Of course, in true Kyle Sandilands style, the shock jock brought up Sheridan’s previously remarks, telling Wilson that “he seemed like there was some sort of issue” between them.
“We had that ex-friend of yours on here from Packed to the Rafters, he seemed like there was some sort of issue,” Sandilands spouted before Wilson quashed the rumoured beef.
“Oh Hugh, we were with him on New Year’s Eve we had a fun time,” Wilson replied, adding that she spent New Year’s at Sydney Harbour alongside her family, Sheridan, Robbie Williams and his fam bam.
“It was great, it was good to see him.”
When she was pressed on why Sheridan wasn’t invited to her nuptials to Agruma, Wilson insisted that there was no bad blood between them and that the wedding was just “small”.
“It was a very small, intimate wedding. So, we only had like 50 people,” she continued before explaining why she and Agruma decided to keep things lowkey.
“It was going to be just family because, basically, I hadn’t met Ramona’s family because they’re Eastern European and they had some issues with the relationship.
“And so, we were a bit nervous about that and then we invited some friends. It was very last minute.”
What did Hugh Sheridan say about Rebel Wilson?
Back in 2024, shortly after Rebel and Agruma announced their new relationship status, Sheridan shared with the Kyle and Jackie O show that he “wasn’t even told” about the nuptials even though he “set them up”.
“On their first date I actually gave them both a little Tiffany’s necklace … that they still wear … because I thought that they would be a great match,” Sheridan revealed.
“But look, I don’t even really know them anymore.”
Sheridan added that Wilson had stopped replying to his texts following a second date with Agruma, stating that he has “no idea” why he got ghosted.
Despite not being invited to the big event, Sheridan wished the couple the best and said he just wants the Pitch Perfect star to “have good people around her”.
“Back in the day, I was probably one of the only people that would be there for her … and now with the silence and stuff, I just want to make sure she’s alright,” he shared.
Considering that they finished 2024 together, it appears that their friendship is back up and running!
