Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Health Care Authority and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, announced the authority’s quarterly new services report in the comprehensive health insurance governorates, for the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2024/2025.
The head of the Health Care Authority explained that the Authority succeeded in providing its services to more than 870.6 thousand beneficiaries in the governorates of Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Aswan, and Suez during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Pointing out that Suez Governorate had the largest share of the total beneficiaries during this period, as the number of beneficiaries reached 245 thousand beneficiaries, followed by Luxor Governorate, where the number of beneficiaries reached 219 thousand, then Port Said, 211 thousand beneficiaries, then Ismailia, where the number of beneficiaries during the same period exceeded 158 thousand, South Sinai had 21.7 thousand beneficiaries, then Aswan Governorate had 15.6 thousand beneficiaries.
The head of the Health Care Authority highlighted the total medical and therapeutic services that were provided during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024/2025, which amounted to approximately 3 million services. Medical and therapeutic, which included various medical and therapeutic packages at all levels of treatment, whether primary in family medicine units and centers, or secondary or tertiary, which were provided in the authority’s hospitals in the six governorates, in accordance with international quality levels and in accordance with the latest developments and international practices.
And within the framework of Continuous development of health services. The Chairman of the Health Care Authority indicated the creation of 495 new medical services, in addition to the inauguration and operation of more than 35 new treatment departments in the Authority’s facilities, during the first quarter of the current financial year, in a way that contributes to expanding the scope of medical services available to citizens. It enhances the Authority’s ability to meet their needs and requirements.
He added: During the same period, psychological counseling clinics were established in 235 health facilities affiliated with the Authority, including 226 in family medicine units and centers and 9 clinics in hospitals, with the aim of providing psychological support and psychological consultations. For citizens as part of comprehensive health care services, this step comes within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to provide integrated health care, in a way that ensures improving the quality of healthy life for citizens in the governorates of implementing comprehensive health insurance. Nearly 42 thousand beneficiaries have benefited from these clinics.
The head of the authority noted that during the first quarter of the current financial year, 336 specialized clinics were opened in 56 family medicine centers in the six governorates to implement the comprehensive health insurance system, in the specialties of women, internal medicine, children, dermatology, and ophthalmia, in addition to the IMCI program, approved by The World Health Organization to help the medical team discover, classify and treat the five basic diseases that cause high rates of death in children under the age of 5 years. More than 237,000 beneficiaries have benefited from these specialized clinics.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Subki emphasized that The authority is committed to continuing efforts to develop and enhance health capabilities in comprehensive health insurance governorates, noting that expanding the provision of distinguished health services is one of the basic pillars of achieving the authority’s strategic goals in improving the quality of healthy life for citizens.
