Putin receives President Sisi and leaders of the BRICS countries during a dinner party in Kazan

Russian President Vladimir Putin received, this evening, Wednesday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the leaders of the BRICS countries during a dinner party in the Russian city of Kazan.

President El-Sisi had delivered a speech at the first (closed) plenary session of the BRICS summit in Kazan this morning. Today, it included an affirmation of Egypt’s pride in its first participation as a member of the BRICS group since joining it at the beginning of this year, and the keenness it takes to enhance its active involvement in all of the group’s work mechanisms, within the framework of developing the strategic relations that link Egypt with the BRICS members.

It also included President Sisi delivered a speech, during the second expanded plenary session of the BRICS summit this afternoon, which was held under the title: “Strengthening the multilateral system for equitable global development and security,” during which he stressed that expanding the membership of the BRICS group at the beginning of this year reflects the intention of the bloc’s countries to strengthen… Multilateral cooperation, and raising the voice and interests of developing countries, in various international and regional forums, stressing Egypt’s support for enhancing consultation and coordination among the BRICS countries, and intensifying cooperation to confront common international challenges, especially climate change, access to concessional financing, food security, and increasing poverty rates. The BRICS group currently includes Egypt, Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.< /p>
