PSG ‘agree £59million deal to sign Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’ after the Georgian winger was linked with a move to the Premier League

PSG have reportedly agreed a deal worth £59m to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli.

The 23-year-old has been an integral component of Napoli’s success in recent years, and starred as the club secured their first league title in more than three decades in the 2022-23 campaign.

In the years since he has remained a key player at the Stadio Armando Maradona and has netted five goals and contributed three assists this season.

However, negotiations surrounding a new contract at the Serie A club stalled in recent weeks and Napoli boss Antonio Conte revealed on Saturday that Kvaratskhelia would leave the club in the January window.

Amid interest from several Premier League clubs, French giants PSG emerged as the Georgia international’s most likely destination.

Now, according to a report from L’Equipe, a deal worth in excess of €70million (£59m) has been agreed between the two clubs.

The main points of contention are said to have been ironed out during discussions between the two clubs this week, with Napoli reportedly intent on Les Parisiens meeting their asking price for the winger.

Kvaratskhelia is yet to travel to the French capital to complete his medical ahead of the move, though that is expected to be finalised in the coming days.

Reports earlier this week claimed that Kvaratskhelia is set to earn more than four times his current salary in Paris.

Luis Enrique’s side currently sit seven points clear at the top of Ligue 1, in their first season since former talisman Kylian Mbappe departed the club to join Real Madrid.

The club’s performances have been significantly less consistent in Europe, however.

After picking up just two wins from their opening six Champions League games, the French champions are currently on course to miss out on qualification to the knockout stage as they sit 25th in the revamped league phase format.

PSG play host to Manchester City on January 22 as they look to get their continental campaign back on track.
