A number of prominent female figures in Egyptian society participated in a mini-version of the She Can event on the campus of the American University – Downtown Cairo, which is considered one of the most important events specialized in supporting women’s professional paths, and aims to empower Egyptian women by providing them with the tools and skills necessary to achieve success. Her professional ambitions, encouraging her to expand into new fields, and enhancing her role in economic and social development. The event was held under the patronage of the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Social Solidarity, Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, the National Training Academy, and the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
The event was opened in the presence of a number of prominent figures in Egyptian society, headed by Dr. Ghada Ali. Member of the House of Representatives and member of Working Group 2 in the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Representative Hind Hazem, Member of the Solidarity Committee in the House of Representatives, Dr. Dalia El-Baz, Head of the Egyptian Post Authority, Lamis Negm, Chief Advisor Financial Supervision Authority for Social Responsibility Affairs, and Dr. Rasha Ragheb, President of the National Training Academy. He discussed a group of important topics that contribute to empowering women in their professional paths, the most prominent of which are: success stories of individuals with disabilities in the labor market, joining the field of pharmacy, which requires a deep understanding of health and educational systems, the importance of government and parliamentary support for entrepreneurship, and the role of effective communication and marketing. In enhancing the presence of individuals in the labor market, empowering women using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, the role of the National Academies in training the workforce and highlighting the role of women leaders, and achieving a balance between motherhood and professional success. The event witnessed the attendance of approximately 2,500 participants, and a number of companies were keen to provide job opportunities for the participants. This event was not just a meeting, but rather a new starting point towards empowering Egyptian women and enhancing their presence in various professional fields. All the participants and supporting partners proved that success is not achieved. Except through concerted efforts and the provision of equal opportunities, and that true strength lies in mutual support and effective participation in building a society capable of growth and innovation, with our strategic partners, pioneers of the Egyptian economy, who provided workshops and awareness sessions on professional development.
