Google is looking to reap the rewards of their own new smartphone, the Google Pixel 9a. The tech giant released a new Android smartphone, which is available at AT&T, Walmart and Amazon starting at $2.99/month (reg. $14.45/month) for 36 months.
We had a chance to test the Google Pixel 9a and found it to have a crisp and detailed display with silky smooth motion and quick multitasking for fast app switching. It even has a perfectly flat rear with no camera bump, so feel free to lay it flat on a table or desk.
We were immediately impressed by the photo quality and enhanced AI features for photo editing and automated call assistant, and, compared to the iPhone, we found the Pixel 9a to be best for battery life.
The Google Pixel 9a is a new mid-range Android smartphone that has a long battery life (in our testing, we got more than 80 hours per charge), sharp 6.3-inch “Actua” display at up to 120Hz and impressive camera and AI features. It’s unmatched against any other mid-range Android phone out there.
The phone also has 8GB of RAM with 128GB of on-board storage to start, while it functions like the Google Pixel 9 flagship — which an unlocked model is on sale for $790 (reg. $899) on Amazon — but slightly smaller and chunkier display bezels.
Starting at just $499, the Google Pixel 9a is the best smartphone with mid-range specs and usage for 2025. It comes four colors: Obsidian, Iris, Peony and Porcelain.
