President Sisi appreciates the efforts of the Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the efforts made by the Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights and all national bodies, directing them to continue intensively during the coming period to complete the implementation of the goals of the national strategy, enhance the human rights situation in its comprehensive concept, ensure that citizens enjoy their constitutional rights, and consolidate the foundations of citizenship, the rule of law and non-discrimination.

 

President El-Sisi also directed to intensify efforts to overcome related challenges, and continue to update the institutional and legislative structure, in a way that ensures real and sustainable improvement, while continuing to integrate the goals of the National Strategy for Human Rights into the state’s strategies, plans and general policies, and continuing to implement programs aimed at raising awareness of rights and duties.

 

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s reception today, Monday, of Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the second executive report of the National Strategy for Human Rights, explaining that the report included all the initiatives, programs and projects that were implemented in the axes The four pillars of the National Strategy for Human Rights, which were prepared by a purely Egyptian initiative, aiming to improve the status of human rights in their comprehensive concept, political, civil, economic, social and cultural, and to enhance the rights of women, youth, children, the elderly and people with disabilities, through developing the relevant legislative and institutional structure, spreading the culture of human rights and building the capacities of workers in all state agencies.

 

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, explained that the Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that this year witnessed the completion of the establishment of human rights units in ministries and national bodies, the formation of committees to examine grievances received from people with disabilities, and units to combat violence against women, in addition to amending and issuing many legislations that enhance human rights, such as the Egyptian nationality laws, the establishment of the “Able Differently” Fund, and the National Alliance for Civil Development Work and the Rights of the Elderly. The government also submitted amendments to draft laws related to human rights, in addition to signing a number of cooperation protocols between national bodies, national councils, international governmental organizations and civil society organizations, with the aim of implementing activities to spread and enhance the culture of human rights, and organizing a number of workshops Work and training courses for employees of the state administrative apparatus for the same purpose.
