President of Assiut University: The university jumped 168 places in the classification "QS" English for the year 2025

 The President of Assiut University, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, announced that the university jumped 168 places in the “QS Sustainability” classification. For the year 2025 AD – English, for sustainable development standards, compared to the previous classification last year, after it ranked (653) globally, out of (1744) educational institutions that were included in the classification, in addition to ranking fifth in Egypt out of (26) An Egyptian university was included in the classification. 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the new achievement achieved by the university in one of the major international classifications. that evaluates universities; According to its impact on society, in environmental, social and governance aspects, noting that the university’s progress in the “QS: Sustainability 2025” classification , is an important achievement; It confirms its tireless efforts in the field of sustainable development and its commitment. The environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainability.

 

The university president said that the “sustainability” element It is one of the most important principles of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which paid great attention; By activating the role of universities and higher education institutions, in general, in serving society and the surrounding environment.

 

For his part; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, praised; The university advanced (168) places in the “classification” QS" for sustainability; compared to last year, indicating that this is a result of the university’s interest and response to the challenges of the environment and society, by linking the educational and research process with the environment and society and adapting them; To find effective and sustainable solutions to various environmental and societal problems, which is consistent with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals.

 

For his part, the Director of the International Academic Classification Office, Dr. Omar Shaaban that the "QS" rating for sustainability; In its evaluation of universities, it relies on the total score of each university in three categories: The first category is; The environmental impact, with which Assiut University achieved rank (653) globally, includes three indicators: sustainability of educational institutions, sustainability of education, sustainability of scientific research; The second category includes: Social impact, in which the university achieved a ranking of (922) globally; It includes (5) indicators, which are: equality, knowledge exchange, impact of education, employment and opportunities, and quality of life. As for the third category; It is related to governance, and the university ranked 358 globally.
