A Premier League figure arranged ‘cash for sex’ sessions with a teenage girl according to court documents, a report claims.
The man is accused of raping the girl at his house after inviting her to discuss a work opportunity, though he denies any inappropriate relations with an under-age girl.
This figure is said to be continuing work as normal in the Premier League after the events took place in the 1990s, according to The Athletic.
The woman claims she was 15 at the time of the first incident.
Meanwhile, the man denies rape or inappropriate relations, but he admits to asking her while she was 16 or 17 if she ‘wanted to earn some cash for sex’- and that this became a regular occurrence over the ensuing years, with around 15 ‘sessions’ taking place.
His identity cannot be disclosed. Last year, a High Court judge granted an anonymity order to guard him from bad publicity and possible harm to his financial interests, as per The Athletic.
A Premier League figure has reportedly denied accusations that he paid a teenage girl for sex
Moreover, the woman must remain unidentified as alleged victims of sexual offences are granted lifeline anonymity – unless they waive that right in writing.
She is suing damages for aggravated for sexual assault and intentional infliction of injury.
She alleges that he led her around his property, told her to sit on his knee, called her a ‘good girl’ and asked if she was a virgin – all while her parents were waiting outside.
The alleged victim then describes how she was subjected to a ‘disgusting and traumatising’ turn of events and paid £150.
Her experiences have left her with depression and PTSD among other issues, she claims, and that she was too fearful to report him at the time due to the ptoential repercussions, particularly for her career.
The Athletic claims to have seen a 17-page defence from the man, in which he calls the accusations ‘dishonest and malicious’.
The alleged rapist, anonymised as JZX in the papers, claims they ‘enjoyed a friendship’ for 20 years after the alleged rape and that he offered her financial support in ‘moments of crisis’.
While he admits that he did make the initial ‘cash for sex’ offer, he insists that she is the one who reached out to him and offered sexual favours in return for money over the following years.
‘On the vast majority of occasions (he) has declined offers of sex, although he has engaged in sexual activity with the claimant on up to about 15 occasions in total over the years, for which he rewarded her with cash payments in line with her expectations,’ the legal defence, signed by JZX, says.
‘On one occasion, the defendant engaged in sexual activity with both the claimant and her sister, both of whom were looking to earn some cash.’
Many more details about the case are unable to be disclosed after the judge ruled an anonymity order must ‘protect the interests of the defendant’ and ‘secure the administration of justice’.
