Police footage shows ex-NFL coach Jack Del Rio begging cop to let him ‘take a leak’ after DUI arrest
Former NFL coach Jack Del Rio can be seen yelling out in agony and begging a police officer to let him ‘take a leak’ in shocking footage of his DUI arrest last month.
Del Rio, who spent over 20 seasons in the NFL as a coach in some capacity, was arrested on Friday November 8 in Madison, Wisconsin for driving a vehicle into a street sign and breaking a fence while intoxicated.
In a statement given to DailyMail.com last month, the 61-year-old revealed he would be stepping down from his role as a senior advisor to University of Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell following his arrest.
Over a month on from the incident, TMZ Sports has obtained footage of Del Rio being detained by officers after showing signs of ‘impairment’ while reportedly reeking of booze.
Before being handcuffed and placed into a police car, he can be heard confessing to drinking ‘a little bit’ before getting behind the wheel, despite initially claiming he had not been driving.
Dashcam footage then shows him becoming increasingly uncomfortable in the back of the car after telling him he was under arrest for DUI.

On three separate occasions Del Rio asked cops if he could relieve himself, even pleading with them at one stage: ‘Please, just let us f***ing take a leak.’
The former Raiders and Jaguars head coach could also be heard screaming in pain while a cop waited on a warrant for his blood sample after he refused a breathalyzer.
An officer eventually asked him about the cries: ‘Sir, what is going on?’
‘It’s just this pain,’ Del Rio responded.
When they arrived at a nearby medical facility to take the blood sample, he could be heard moaning that his ‘f***ing arm won’t work’ before he was eventually helped out of the vehicle.
Del Rio had only joined Wisconsin in the offseason after previously serving as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.
In a statement to ESPN, the school said about his arrest last month: ‘We take matters like this very seriously and we are continuing to gather information.’
Del Rio then revealed that he was resigning from his position as a senior advisor, telling DailyMail.com: ‘I’m grateful to Coach Fickell and the University of Wisconsin for the opportunity to work with such a talented coaching and support staff and some of the best young football players in the country,’ the statement read.

‘I have decided to step away from my position with the team, so they can focus all their attention on the remainder of the season.’
The former linebacker – who spent 10 years as a player in the NFL – first ventured into coaching as an assistant strength coach with the New Orleans Saints in 1997.
He then served as the linebackers coach for New Orleans before jumping to the Baltimore Ravens in 1999. He stayed there for three seasons, helping them win Super Bowl XXXV before making the move to the Carolina Panthers as their defensive coordinator.
After just a single season in Charlotte, Del Rio would become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars – a role he’d hold from 2003-2011. In that time, he compiled a record of 68-71 and reached the playoffs twice – losing the first game both times to the New England Patriots.
He was fired from Jacksonville in 2011 after starting the season 3-8.
From there, he moved to the Denver Broncos – becoming their defensive coordinator and helping the team win an AFC title in the 2013 NFL season before they lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.

He was fired in 2017 after compiling a record of 6-10, leaving his all-time head coaching record at 93-94.
After three years away from football, he joined Ron Rivera’s coaching staff with the then-named Washington Football Team in 2020 as the defensive coordinator.
He stayed in Washington through two whole seasons and part of a third season, before being fired in November 2023 after losing to the rival Dallas Cowboys 45-10.
