Meghan Markle — sorry, Meghan Sussex — has delivered a royal clapback, in the form of a handwritten note to a podcaster who expressed concern about her new Netflix show.
ICYMI, the Duchess of Sussex has been busy harvesting honey and topping everything in sight with edible flowers on With Love, Meghan, the eight-episode lifestyle series that landed on the streamer earlier this month.
In the lead up to the show’s release, Amanda Hirsch said on her podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat that she was “scared for Meghan”, in anticipation of the inevitable backlash Markle would receive after watching the show’s trailer back in January.
Hirsch expressed concern that With Love, Meghan would amplify the public perception that Markle was “inauthentic”, since gardening in a Californian estate with celebrity pals is bound to come off as “forced” (duh… she’s a Duchess!).
In response to Hirsch’s comments, Markle delivered a cheeky note complete with her own personalised stationery and tiara-topped monogram. “Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared”, the note reads.
“Don’t be! This is the fun part — let’s enjoy it.”
If you’ve watched the show, you know Markle is a gifted calligrapher (because of course she is), so best believe her handwritten note was gorgeous to the point of being illegible.

“Beyond shook. Beyond spiralling”, Hirsch wrote while sharing the letter on social media.
The podcaster admitted that she “smell[ed]” the note upon opening it (I imagine it was rose-scented), and said she was “absolutely flabbergasted and obsessed” to have received it.
“[Meghan] you have a fan for life,” Hirsch added.
Not everyone has been so taken with the Duchess in the wake of With Love Meghan. The show — which features guest appearances from Mindy Kaling and Markle’s husband, Prince Harry — majorly divided critics, but not enough to get the axe.
With Love, Meghan was renewed for a second season, proving there’s no shortage of flowers to be arranged or bath salts to be concocted.
Anyway, I’m off to practice my calligraphy, I think my pen licence needs renewing.
