Piers Morgan dramatically RETURNS to Good Morning Britain 1,453 days after he stormed out to talk about HIS experience of ‘falling out’ with Trump

Piers Morgan has made a shock return to Good Morning Britain – 1,453 days after he stormed off set live on air and quit.

The journalist, 59, appeared on the ITV show with Ed Balls and Susanna Reid to talk about his own experience falling out with Donald Trump.

Piers said the US president wanted ‘peace not war’, with his main goal in office being to end the two conflicts that are raging in Ukraine and Israel.

He criticised how Trump and JD Vance rounded on President Zelensky in front of cameras on Friday but said it was important to focus on the ‘bigger picture’.

Piers also spoke about how he thought Sir Keir Starmer had ‘played a blinder’ in his meeting with Trump on Thursday.

He added that he was pleased he had found his ‘mojo’ as Prime Minister.

The TV host dramatically left the Good Morning Britain in March 2021 after he refused to apologise in a row over Meghan Markle.

Piers claimed the duchess repeatedly lied during her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey when she spoke about her mental health and having suicidal thoughts.

However, in a surprise announcement last night, Piers said he would be returning to Good Morning Britain on Monday.

He wrote: ‘BREAKING: It’s been nearly 4yrs (1,453 days to be precise!) since I departed @gmb rather hastily… but tomorrow morning, for the first time, I’m going back.

‘I’ll be on with @susannareid100 & @edballs at 8.15am.’

Despite Piers not revealing the reason for his return, fans flooded him with support.

One said: ‘Missed you. Come back everyday.’

A second replied: ‘Not the same without you @piersmorgan.’

In an open letter shared on Instagram, the tough-talking journalist thanked his supporters and declared he was ‘willing to stand my ground’.

He wrote: I’ve lost my job at Good Morning Britain because I chose not to apologise for disbelieving Meghan Markle’s claims in her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

‘I thus became the latest “victim” of the cancel culture that is permeating our country, every minute, of every hour, of everyday. Though of course, I consider myself to be neither a victim, nor actually cancelled.’

The 55-year-old left his role shortly after storming off on set after a row with weatherman Alex Beresford over his comments on Meghan, which prompted more than 41,000 complaints to Ofcom.

It was previously revealed that Good Morning Britain lost 80,000 viewers the day after Piers quit – while its rival BBC Breakfast’s audience grew by 200,000.

The outspoken host helped the show achieve its highest-ever ratings with 1.29million viewers compared to the BBC’s 1.25million.

One petition, called ‘Bring Back Piers Morgan!’, accused ITV of treating him ‘appallingly’ and another, ‘Keep Piers Morgan on GMB for his common sense approach to life’, now has more than 125,000 signatures.

A third, which has been signed by more than 40,000 people, describes his departure as ‘an absolute farce’.
