Philadelphia Eagles get huge Brandon Graham injury news before Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl showdown
Brandon Graham has been activated off injured reserve by the Philadelphia Eagles in what could be a huge consequential move before the Super Bowl against Kansas City Chiefs.
The 36-year-old Graham, a defensive end, has been on IR since Week 12 with torn triceps and suggested at the time of the issue that it could end his career altogether.
But he has recovered in time for Sunday’s game in New Orleans against the Chiefs, giving his teammates a huge boost as the finalize their plans to try and stop Kansas City from recording a ‘three-peat’.
Speaking in late January, after his team clinched their place in New Orleans, Graham sounded hopeful that he could be available for the game.
‘I feel good. This has been the easiest injury, I’d say, out of the injuries I’ve had. Upper body stuff is a little bit easier,’ Graham said.
‘It’s just making sure I’m building muscle, I’m getting stronger and doing the right things to where I’m not re-hurting it. We’ll see what the docs say, see what’s going on, and go from there.’

The 36-year-old Graham got hurt in Week 12 and it looked like his season was over
And this week in New Orleans, Graham again sounded confident but stopped short of telling anyone he was guaranteed to be available.
Speaking Wednesday, he said: ‘I might not be talking as much because I’m trying to save my energy because it has been two months since I’ve played, but I am excited.
‘Working with the strength staff, the trainers, I feel like we’ve got a good little regiment that will make sure they bridge me back into everything.’
Graham had hinted his career was over when he sustained the injury in the 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams last year.
‘If I had to go out like this, I gave everything I got,’ he said, speaking in the Eagles locker room.
At one stage, he appeared to fight back tears as he considered the prospect of never playing again.
‘Like I told the boys, man, The mission’s still the mission. We pour everything we can into this game. I’m just trying to process everything right now.’
Super Bowl LIX is a repeat of the 2023 showdown between the Eagles and the Chiefs that marked the beginning of Kansas City’s run at the three-peat.
