Controversial Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 groom Paul Antoine has revealed how he would’ve reacted if his ‘wife’, Carina Mirabile, went on the Final Test Week date.
To give you a quick recap of all the last-minute fuckery from MAFS 2025, the experts have decided to put our participants through one final plot twist: Final Test Week.
Before our couples could commit to each other (whether for legit reasons or TV) at Final Vows, our 2025 participants were separated and were given the opportunity to go on a date with a “potential match” for a day.
While you’d think the majority of MAFS couples who’ve made it to this point are pretty rock solid, some of the participants leaped at the opportunity to meet their “Plan B’s“.
One of the blokes who went on the Final Test date was Paul Antoine, who previously emphasised how he was happy in his ‘marriage’ with Carina Mirabile despite their many, many rocky relationship moments. Carina didn’t take on the challenge and opted to stay home.
But unfortunately (for Paul), his date Hannah Renée called him out for his shady behaviour during their secret rendezvous. Eventually, Paul admitted to his ‘wife’ that he took on the challenge, which resulted in a ‘yuge relationship breakdown just days before Final Vows.
Following their massive argument, Carina kicked him out for his betrayal, describing the act as “cheating”.
Now, the controversial groom — who claimed to have only gone on the date out of “curiosity” — has revealed how he would’ve reacted if Carina decided to take on the challenge.
Speaking to 9Entertainment, the 31-year-old groom claimed that he wouldn’t be upset if Carina took on the Final Test Challenge because he was “so secure” in their relationship.
“If roles were reversed and if Carina had decided to go on that date… It would have not bothered me, because I was so secure in my relationship and I’m so confident in myself and in what I’m bringing to the relationship,” he told the publication.
Paul added that he saw the Final Test challenge as “just another task” and admitted that he “wasn’t thinking straight” when he decided to participate in the date.
“I wasn’t thinking straight, there was no malicious intentions but I took the decision to go on that date. I wasn’t hoping to get anyone better, I wasn’t hoping to even have fun I just remember thinking — cool, whatever, just another task,” he continued.
Earlier in the season, Paul was embroiled in controversy after he admitted to punching a wall after Carina revealed that she slept with a rapper whose song was playing on the radio.
The damning admission sent shockwaves across the nation, with many viewers demanding that Paul be reprimanded for his behaviour. It also got to a point where NSW Police confirmed they investigating the alleged incident.
“The matter has been referred to officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, who have commenced an investigation,” a spokesperson told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“As the investigation is current, police will not be making any further comment in relation to the matter.”
At the time of writing, there has been no update regarding the investigation.
