Karen Makishima, Japanese parliamentarian and former Minister of Digital Affairs, Information Technology and Regulatory Reform in Japan, praised the successes achieved by Egypt in implementing the Japanese-style education system in Egyptian-Japanese schools, stressing the importance of benefiting from Egypt’s experience in Japan’s support for development in Africa in the field of education.

 

This came after the participation of Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, via video conference technology, in the “Friends” forum. Ms. Karen Makishima stressed In an article published on her official page on the social networking site “Facebook”, she stated that the Japanese-style education system in Egyptian-Japanese schools, “Tokatsu”, has been successfully introduced in Egypt, where he is currently studying. 16,226 students in 55 Egyptian-Japanese schools, with the participation of 2,671 teachers who received specialized training. She praised her visit to one of the Egyptian-Japanese schools in January 2020, where she saw the positive behaviours, skills and habits of the students, their integration into learning activities and the students’ acquisition of skills such as taking responsibility, valuing oneself and others, and other skills. Ms. Karen Makishima also stressed the importance of continued cooperation between Egypt and Japan to enhance the Japanese-style education system in Egyptian-Japanese schools, expressing her aspiration to continue working and striving towards implementing this.
