Parliamentarian: The tripartite summit in Asmara consolidates the foundations of stability and security in the Horn of Africa

Representative Amr Fahmy, a member of the Senate and a member of the Supreme Committee of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to the Eritrean capital, Asmara, and participation in holding a tripartite Egyptian-Eritrean-Somali summit comes at a very important time, as the region is witnessing an escalation of unrest and tensions that… It calls on everyone to unite and join hands to enhance security and stability in the region, especially in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

He noted  Fahmy, in a statement today, noted that the summit between Egypt, Eritrea, and Somalia confirms the bonds of relations between the three countries and each of them’s keenness to strengthen relations between them in various fields, most notably the field of information exchange, military intelligence, information exchange, and military cooperation to protect common interests, most notably those related to national security.

The senator explained that cooperation between Egypt, Eritrea and Somalia ensures the preservation of the trade route in the Red Sea and the consolidation of stability and security in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, as well as the protection of water interests and the security of maritime navigation, pointing out that this visit opens doors New cooperation that serves the strategic, political, economic and social interests of the common countries.

The member of the Supreme Committee of the Mostaqbal Watan Party stressed that this visit contributes significantly to strengthening Egyptian efforts towards reducing the impact of tensions on the region and not provoking crises in countries. It has common interests, supports brothers, and aims to unify decisions between Cairo and the countries of the Horn of Africa to stop any threats or hostilities it faces.
