A group of 13 leading French producers and distributors, from Banijay France to Satisfaction, Mediawan and France TV Distribution, have joined forces to launch a new TV event called the Paris Unscripted Showcase.
The inaugural edition will take place April 28-30 in the heart of the French capital. The Paris event will draw a spotlight on the booming unscripted business in France, and fill a gap left by MipTV which will be moving from Cannes to London in 2025.
As such, the new mini-market will give producers and distributors from France and Europe a change to unveil their lineups to broadcasters and streamers. Buyers from the U.S., Europe, Australia, China, African and the Middle East are expected to attend the kick off edition.
Aside Banijay France, Mediawan, Satisfaction and France TV Distribution, the first participating producers and distributors are 2P2L, Arpagon, Can’t Stop Media, Dreamspark, Effervescence, M6 Formats, Tooco, Webedia and WeMake.
A series of events will be organized by each of the participating companies, with exclusive content, tailor-made sessions and opportunities to meet creators across a diversity of genres, including games, entertainment, talk shows, social experiences, reality TV, factual and TV magazines.
“This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the innovation and diversity of French and European unscripted formats,” said a spokesperson for the Paris Unscripted Showcase. “This event marks the beginning of a strengthened collaboration between formats producers and broadcasters on an international scale, meeting the actual expectations of the global market.” The detailed schedule of the event will be unveiled soon.
