Paramedic bride’s $30,000 ‘dream wedding’ takes a turn when she accidentally takes drugs before her nuptials – and that’s just the start

Jade Jensen, 27, couldn’t have imagined the ‘crazy’ turn of events in the lead up to, and on the day of, her wedding.
For a year Jade, from Adelaide, had meticulously planned all the details for her dream day in March, locking in accommodation, a DJ and catering immediately.
However just two weeks out the wheels started to come off, with one important cancellation snowballing into what can only be described as an unfortunate turn of events for the bride.
The former paramedic credits herself for being ‘pretty chill’ when it comes to stressful situations, and now a project manager, she’s used to overseeing huge events.
‘My hairdresser bailed, like, two weeks out,’ Jade told FEMAIL.
Jade, who had no ‘official’ bridesmaids, had organised her hairdresser to do the hair for her and her interstate friends the morning of the wedding.
‘She just said, “Sorry I can’t get the day off work”.’
And although Jade had arranged all the biggest parts of her wedding early, she underestimated just how many of the small details needed actioning too.

‘I should have probably taken leave the week of my wedding, but I didn’t,’ she said.
‘I work in the mining industry, and we had a shutdown the week of my wedding so I was still flying up [and down] to finalise that project.’
‘And because we had our wedding on our friend’s farm and vineyard, there’s obviously a lot more logistics that go into that than just your standard wedding venue.’
Overcoming last minute work and vendor stresses, Jade was hit another blow – quite literally – on the day of her nuptials.
Opening up a fancy bottle of champagne in front of her friends, the cork hit her at close-range, directly in her forehead.
‘I was unwinding the cage and I was too busy talking and sort of looked down briefly and it’s popped [hitting] me right in the forehead, which wasn’t great,’ she recalled.
Sharing a video on TikTok which has amounted a staggering 2.3million views, Jade detailed the series of events in excruciating detail.
‘I ran over to the freezer to get an ice pack because I was worried – I just didn’t want an egghead,’ she said.

If that wasn’t enough, Jade’s dog Sassy tried to steal the show when it came to finally walking down the aisle

The canine then decided to put on even more of a show for guests by going for a ‘number two’ as they were just about to say their vows
‘The makeup artist who was a nurse as well, she told me to take a Nurofen.’
‘I went over to my medicine cabinet and I just picked up this, like, silver packet and popped two [pills].’
‘It wasn’t until a minute later I came back, and I was like, “Oh my gosh, what have I done?”‘
Unknowingly, Jade had swallowed two Restavit tablets – a very strong and well-known antihistamine that has a side effect of severe sleepiness.
After bursting into tears Jade said she tried to vomit the tablets up to get them out of her system, but to not much avail.
Instead, she battled the extreme fatigue by drinking lots of coffee to keep herself awake for the 4pm nuptials.
If that wasn’t enough, Jade’s dog Sassy tried to steal the show when it came to finally walking down the aisle.
‘She was so excited to see me, but she walked around the back of me and stood on my three meter veil and it ripped out the back of my head as I was walking down the aisle,’ Jade said.

‘I just laughed, because that’s just so her, she just loves causing chaos.’
‘Now I’m just glad I didn’t book the honeymoon straight after it because I’ve needed two weeks of rest at home after all of that chaotic energy,’ Jade said.
