Olympic gold medal winner Stephanie Rice’s first crack at a VERY normal activity most Aussies have done several times in their life

She achieved world dominance in the pool, but not Aussie Olympian Stephanie Rice has been dealt a heavy dose of reality

Rice dominated the pool at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, winning three gold medals and setting world records in the 200m and 400m individual medley events, as well as the 4x200m freestyle relay.

But she was forced to retired from competitive swimming in 2014 after a shoulder injury hampered her performance in the 2012 London Olympics.

Since then, Rice has pursued various ventures, including a motivational speaking career, business endeavours and television appearances.

But now, at 38, she has revealed it is time to work on her resume and apply for a job for the first time since she retired from swimming.

‘Hey everyone,’ she said to her 147,000 followers on Instagram.

‘So I’m back in Dubai and I’m right now at the Mall of the Emirates, just sitting down, updating my resume.

‘I’ve never needed a resume before because I’ve worked for myself and ran my own company since, forever.

‘Basically since I first started swimming and doing brand endorsement deals.

‘So since 2008, I’ve been working for myself. Consultancy work, sponsorship work, work in India with the government.

‘So this is like the first time, now that I’ve completed my MBA, that I’m looking at doing an employment role.

‘Which is like scary and exciting all at the same time.

‘So I’m just looking to create slash refine my resume for this market and trying to put everything I’ve done into some kind of structure, which is very challenging.’

It comes after the Olympian showed off her incredibly fit physique while on honeymoon in Paris with her new husband, Mark Lassey, 46, in January.

She and Lassey, a pastor, were married in Perth after a whirlwind 10-month romance and have been enjoying a romantic Parisian getaway.

Rice said that her and Mark were continuing their fitness binge in Dubai, but there was one thing she was struggling to give up.

‘Mark and I are doing a Daniel fast at the moment, the day that we landed back in Dubai, so this is day three,’ she said.

‘A Daniel fast is essentially like just a really pure fast.

‘So it’s like all fruits and vegetables, you can have some whole grains … basically eating vegan.

‘I love that, but the caffeine detox, is really rough.

‘So I sort of had like a little bit of a cheat and I’m having a matcha latte [green tea, milk and water] because I’m just not even like a functioning human.

‘I’m hoping in the next couple of days the detox really gets through the heaviness and I feel like a normal human again.

‘I’ve just got no energy, I’m so tired.’
