Nick Kyrgios, Jordan Thompson, United Cup updates, odds, how to watch

Despite a solid effort from Great Britain’s Billy Harris, Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry has come out on top in the third set decider, levelling the tie 1-1.

Harris put in a spirited fight to win the first set 6-3, but Etcheverry turned it around to win a tight second set 6-3, before easily winning the third 6-2. The whole match took 2 hours and 43 mins, with the first set clocking in at one hour.

The passionate crowd support for both sides powered the players through the two exciting and lengthy sets. But by the third, Etcheverry was too good for Harris, finishing the Brit off with a more clinical set.

Next up is the mixed doubles decider, where Katie Boulter will return to the court for Great Britain alongside Charles Broom, while both Etcheverry and Nadia Podoroska will back up their singles matches in the doubles.

The doubles will decide not just this tie, but also have implications for Australia’s chances after the loss to Argentina last week.

If Argentina wins this tie, they will be the group winners, leaving Australia’s only hope of progressing to nab the Sydney lucky loser spot into the United Cup quarter final.

If Great Britain win the tie 2-1, Australia will still be in it with a chance if they can beat Great Britain.
