The New York Giants have reportedly reached an agreement with Russell Wilson to sign the Super Bowl-winning quarterback in a $21million deal.
Wilson, 36, will reportedly sign a one-year deal which includes $10.5m guaranteed. According to ESPN, he is projected to be the Giants’ starting quarterback.
New York signed veteran Jameis Winston last week and had been linked with a move for Aaron Rodgers, another free agent quarterback.
Now, though, the Giants have turned to Wilson, who had been in talks with the Browns and his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wilson, now 36, began his NFL career with the Seahawks back in 2012 and he led Seattle to victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
The quarterback joined the Denver Broncos in 2022 before moving to the Steelers for the 2024 season.
