New Orleans man threatened and robbed a dominatrix he met online, cops say

A 22-year-old Louisiana man allegedly told a dominatrix he met online that he was going to hold her hostage and sell her to other men.

Joshua Graves, of Gretna, was charged with second-degree kidnapping, armed robbery, and human trafficking after he allegedly held a woman, 37, he met on FetLife hostage in his home for 90 minutes, Nola.com reported.

FetLife is a website for people interesting in BDSM, kinks, and fetishes that match people with similar desires.

The dominatrix, who is from New Orleans, told investigators she met Graves on a fetish website where she was seeking a consensual submissive partner and had agreed to meet the young man for a non-sexual encounter.

Graves allegedly arranged for a car to pick her up and bring her to his Louise Court residence on February 3, the outlet said.

Upon entering the home, she began to feel uneasy and tried to leave, to which Graves prevented her from doing so and attempted to take her phone.

He then told her he intended to ‘pimp her out’ and allegedly choked and hit the woman.

‘They got into multiple physical altercations while she was trying to escape,’ Captain Jason Rivarde of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office told Nola.com.

The woman was able to escape through a window roughly 90 minutes after arriving at the residence, authorities said.

She had not met with Graves prior to the incident and she told investigators that he did not try to sexually assault her.

Law enforcement suspects Graves may have tried this with other women, but no evidence of that has come forward.

He was not booked on additional charges and he pleaded not guilty to the one he had on Monday.

The young man was arrested on Thursday on Behrman Highway.

Graves is currently being held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center and his bail has been set at $1million, according to Nola.com.
