There is nothing or almost nothing left of a building targeted by Israeli air attacks in the heart of Beirut. In the rubble, rescuers search for survivors in front of stunned and still terrified residents. “I was sleeping in my room when shards of glass fell on us, we fled into the street, we were really scared,” said a resident. The Israeli army struck the building in the morning without issuing an evacuation order. According to Lebanese sources, a Hezbollah leader was targeted.
Some point the finger at the Shiite movement. “If there was a member of Hezbollah, did he have the right to stay here among the population, is he not responsible for all these deaths?” says a resident indignantly. The IDF has increased its air raids throughout Lebanon. The Hebrew State reaffirmed on the evening of Saturday November 23 its desire to continue its war in Lebanon as long as its objectives are not achieved.
