NBC pundit Tom Costello immediately blamed the horrific Toronto plane crash on President Donald Trump, despite it happening in Canada.
On Monday afternoon, a Delta plane crash-landed at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport after flying from Minneapolis to Toronto.
The aircraft, a Bombardier CR900, carrying 80 people, flipped and appeared to land upside down shortly before 3pm. Miraculously, everyone on board survived. At least 15 people have been taken to the hospital.
Shortly after news of the frightening incident was shared, Costello, a senior correspondent, said that the ‘string’ of recent plane crashes will ‘yet again raise the concern about FAA staffing.’
‘Now, this is a Canadian air traffic control tower, and this is under Canadian authority once it crosses the border, and yet, as you know there has been talk about maybe staff cuts at the FAA as a part of President Trump’s effort to trim down the federal workforce,’ Costello continued.
He then went on to contradict what he said, adding: ‘At yet, as you also know, the FAA has been complaining for years that they are understaffed in critical job positions, especially air traffic control.
‘I was having a conversation with somebody today about whether air traffic control in America has been affected by the staff cuts – so far not to their knowledge,’ Costello said, adding that ‘this is going to feed into all of these recent incidents.’
On Monday, the Trump administration started firing hundreds of workers at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The first emails about layoffs were sent to probationary workers late on Friday night, according to David Spero, president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists.
Users quickly called out Costello for placing blame on Trump, despite the cause of the crash still being unknown.
‘Well this didn’t take long.. Are we even surprised?,’ one wrote.
Another said: ‘This is clearly false and irresponsible speculation.’
‘They never waste a moment,’ someone else commented.
‘This is the most dishonest reporting I’ve ever heard,’ said another.

Terrifying video from a plane crash survivor showed one woman hanging upside down from her seat in the rolled over aircraft.
‘My plane crashed I’m upside down,’ she captioned the video.
The unidentified woman then recorded the terrified passengers stumbling off the plane as they escaped to safety.
‘I was just in a plane crash, oh my god,’ the shocked passenger stated.
The aircraft was being operated by regional airline Endeavor Air.
Fox News reported the aircraft was battered by strong winds of 70 mph as it tried to land amid a winter storm which has been sweeping the US.
