He added that his participation in this session confirms the importance of the role of men in empowering women and achieving gender equality, as this session is the main event. He pointed out that organizing this day comes as a renewal to emphasize the pivotal role that women play in moving forward. By working towards achieving the sustainable development goals.

 

The “Women Empowerment” session will include Six discussion groups will focus on the topics of Housing for All Women, Gender Equality and Climate Change, Stronger Together: Leaving No Woman Behind, Financing Women’s Empowerment, Digital and Digitization for Gender Equality, and Women in Crises. 

 

In turn, Dr. Siham Jibril, a member of the National Council for Women and Rapporteur of the Governorates Committee, stressed that the economic empowerment of women is an essential axis for enhancing their role in society and the stability of their families, noting that the Council is the national mechanism for empowering women. 

 

She pointed to the National Strategy for Empowering Egyptian Women 2030, which includes four main axes, including the economic empowerment of women, explaining that the Council seeks, through its branches in all governorates, to achieve the economic empowerment of women and help… Women must obtain national ID cards, especially in remote areas, which allow women to obtain loans to develop their projects or enroll their children in schools. 

 

Dr. Siham Jibril said that the Council It pays special attention to the issue of violence against women, especially depriving them of their right to inheritance. In this context, the Council launched awareness campaigns such as “Knocking on Doors” To raise awareness of women’s rights and the laws and legislation passed by the state to protect their rights. The Council also supports the empowerment of girls through programs and initiatives such as the Noura Program and the “Dowi” Initiative. Which represents the national framework for investment in girls, which is sponsored by Mrs. Intisar Al-Sisi, wife of the President of the Republic.

 

For her part, Hamida Abdel Moneim, a member of the Council’s Governorates Committee, referred to the “Women’s Health” campaign. “Egypt Health”, which contributed to improving the lives of many women, by providing awareness, examinations and continuous support, which contributed to providing better health care for women in general.
