"National for Women" Organizes a field visit for male and female students of the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University
The National Council for Women received students from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Sociology at Cairo University, in the presence of 200 male and female students. The goal of the meeting was to spread awareness among university students about women’s issues and the role of the National Council for Women as the national mechanism concerned with empowering Egyptian women.
Safaa Habib, Head of the Central Administration for Public Information and Protocol, presented an overview of the National Council for Women, its establishment and formation, the role of its committees and branches in the governorates, and its role in supporting legislation related to women.
She referred to the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, which was prepared by the Council and approved by the President of the Republic as a government working document for the coming years, and spoke about its axes. And the role of the Council in following up on its implementation.
Rania Taha from the General Administration of Strategy presented the role of violence against women units in universities, which receive complaints from girls affected by violence in complete confidentiality, as the Council cooperates with 42 educational and university bodies, and is also organized Seminars and periodic meetings with students in a number of colleges at different universities in order to combat violence against women, emphasizing the role of the complaints office in providing legal support and confronting Forms of violence to which women are exposed, as complaints are received on the Complaints Office hotline 15115.
Heba Eid, Director General of Human Resources, presented the organizational structure and various departments of the Council, stressing that The Council periodically offers available jobs through the government jobs portal.
May Mahmoud, Director General of Skills Development at the Council, presented an overview of the Council’s efforts in the field of women’s economic empowerment, Which contributes to developing women’s skills to enter the labor market, by helping them start small and medium enterprises.
She mentioned the Council’s role in supporting entrepreneurship and financial education programs in all the different governorates of Egypt. .
While Amira Abdullah rose, By introducing the role of the library in the Council, and that it contains more than 8,000 books related to women’s issues in addition to the publications of the National Council for Women since its establishment, in order to help researchers interested in women’s issues.
He presented Sameh Ashmawy conducted interactive training for the participating students, in order to introduce them to the importance of balanced family upbringing, and the importance of overcoming stress that may lead to Violence.
He stressed the importance of gender equality and the necessity of supporting positive communication and ensuring the child’s right to balanced education and care.
