National Center for Disability: Coordination with banks to integrate people of determination into financial inclusion
Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, participated in the activities of the expanded meeting organized by the Al Qurra Foundation for Sustainable Development, at the Olympic Center in Maadi, in cooperation with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, which carried the slogan “The Role of Artificial Intelligence and… Financial inclusion in the economic empowerment of people with disabilities. Coinciding with Egypt and the world’s celebrations of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
For her part, Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, stressed the importance of the partnerships that the Council has concluded with private work institutions, including the Al Qurra Foundation for Sustainable Development, This cooperation falls within the Council’s mandate, which is to hold conferences, seminars, discussion groups, training courses, and workshops for the purpose of raising awareness of the role of persons with disabilities in society, their rights and duties, as well as adopting policies, strategies, programs, and projects necessary for community awareness. And health care necessary to avoid disability, pointing in this regard to the Council’s work methodology in coordination and fruitful and constructive cooperation with all ministries, official and unofficial bodies, civil associations working in the field of disability, international organizations, specialized colleges, stakeholders, the private sector and the media.
The general supervisor of the council said that, in line with the topic of the meeting on financial inclusion of persons with disabilities, the council has coordinated and cooperated with the Central Bank of Egypt, the Ministry of Finance, and the Bank of Egypt with the aim of integrating persons with disabilities. In financial inclusion by working to provide banking services in an accessible and accessible manner for various types of disabilities, such as: applying the engineering code for accessibility, preparing ATM machines for visual and hearing disabilities, providing one-stop service, in addition to providing home service for severe disabilities, and developing a special system to facilitate banking transactions. them, and in line with the " A new beginning for building the Egyptian human being. Which is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. During the months of September and October 2024, in cooperation with the Bank of Egypt and the education directorates in the various governorates, the Council organized a number of awareness seminars related to the management of banking transactions and financial inclusion for persons with disabilities, as the first phase targeted students from Al-Amal Schools for the deaf and hard of hearing. And light for the blind within the educational departments in the governorates of Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Sharqia, and Kafr El-Sheikh. The workshops and awareness-raising seminars included financial concepts and rights. For people with disabilities, and procedures for facilitating financial and banking transactions for them within various banks, and making them aware of what was stated in the circular issued by the Central Bank of Egypt regarding facilitating banking transactions for people with visual, hearing, and motor disabilities. Workshops were made available with sign translation, and a “visa” was distributed. With regard to the role of artificial intelligence in serving people with disabilities, Dr. Iman Karim said that The Council organized an educational symposium on the role of artificial intelligence in improving the lives of people with disabilities within the activities of the Seventh Damanhour Book Fair at the Egyptian Public Library during the month of October 2024, and today we participate with the Al Qurra Foundation for Sustainable Development in a discussion This important topic is presented through a group of experts and specialists in this regard, in addition to the Council’s cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Academy for Technology for Persons with Disabilities (Ministry of Communications). The Council participated in many coordination and preparatory meetings and workshops in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Communications.
