The Damietta Media Complex, affiliated with the Internal Media Sector of the State Information Service, organized an educational symposium entitled “National Awareness and Confronting Rumors” in cooperation with Damietta University and in the presence of Engineer Shaima Al-Siddiq, Deputy Governor of Damietta, within the framework of the State Information Service’s role in raising awareness of all the challenges facing the Egyptian state.
Dr. Hamdan Metwally, President of Damietta University, stressed that building national awareness and confronting rumors are among the most important issues posed by global crises and successive regional developments. Building awareness is also one of the most important basic pillars in building humanity, in addition to its extreme importance in the process of construction and development, as it is a societal weapon in facing challenges and confronting them. Engineer Shaima Al-Siddiq, Deputy Governor of Damietta, stressed that the responsibility of building national awareness is everyone’s responsibility, and that the state, represented by the political leadership, is very keen to enhance awareness of the authentic Egyptian values that enhance the values of cohesion and interdependence in the face of challenges and rumors that target our unity and cohesion and disrupt our development process.
Mr. Okasha, Director of the Damietta Media Complex, explained that the state is continuing its efforts to confront rumors through various media outlets and direct communication with all segments of society to enhance national awareness regarding fourth generation wars that depend on spreading rumors and lies with the aim of destroying society from within.
