Tønsberg – Norway, August 1st, 2018 (WAM) – Emirati champion Obaid Mubarak is preparing to compete in the Formula 4 speedboat competition, which will start tomorrow, Friday, and conclude next Sunday.
The competitions are held as part of the Tønsberg Marine Festival in Norway, which hosts several races, including the second round of the Formula 2 World Championship.
Obaid Mubarak has completed all the preparations, as he tested the readiness of his boat No. 7, named (Mubarak Marine), in preparation for the stages of the event, which begins tomorrow with the trials and continues on Saturday and Sunday with the official races of 4 rounds.
The rising champion in powerboat racing is participating in his first official event outside the country after his local brilliance in the UAE Formula 4 Powerboat Championship 2023-2024, where he achieved second place in his first participation in the Abu Dhabi round last December, then first place in Sharjah last February.
Obaid Mubarak said, “I look forward to making a distinguished appearance in my first European participation in marine competitions, and achieving a sporting achievement that matches the great status of the UAE champions in international forums.”
He explained that his start was with jet skis, then he moved to the world of speedboats through the UAE Championship 2023-2024, in the Abu Dhabi and Sharjah rounds, achieving second place in the first, and winning the title in the second.
