Haunting CCTV footage has emerged of a young mother who vanished without a trace from a rural town almost two weeks ago.
Queensland Police shared the footage as part of a public appeal for information on the whereabouts of Tayla Spies, 29, who was last seen leaving a hotel in Dalby, 200km west of Brisbane, about 8am on February 2.
The video shows Ms Spies carried a large bag into her white Toyota HiLux before she drove in the direction of Surat, a small town about 500km west of Brisbane.
‘We have grave concerns about the health and safety of Tayla,’ Detective Chief Inspector Garry Watts told the ABC.
‘She had a birthday just recently, she didn’t make any contact with family, which is really out of character.’
Ms Spies was due to celebrate her 29th birthday six days after she went missing.
She was travelling in a white 2017 dual cab Toyota Hilux with a distinctive black bumper bar and blacked out wheels. Its registration is 559 GJ7.
The ute was last seen at the intersection of Burrowes Street and Cordelia Street in Surat at 11.10am on February 2.

Investigators appealed to anyone who was travelling between Dalby, Surat and surrounding areas between the hours of 10.30am and 12.30pm on February 2, to check their vehicles dashcam footage.
Ms Spies is described as Caucasian with brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes, a slim build and is approximately 170cm tall.
She also has the word KARMA tattooed across her chest and was last seen wearing a fluorescent pink long sleeve shirt and light-coloured shorts.
However, Ms Spies’ sister, Rebecca, shared a post online claiming the 29-year-old may be wearing different clothes.
‘She did end up changing into a white shirt with purple writing on it and a Mimco shoulder bag in the afternoon on Sunday,’ she wrote.
The family pleaded to the public to share any information on Ms Spies’ whereabouts.
‘Please, if anyone has seen Tayla or her car, report it asap! We just want to know she’s okay and safe!’ Rebecca wrote.
Ms Spies is from Roma, 270km northwest of Dalby, where she was visiting for the weekend. She had planned to return home prior to her disappearance.
