Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities: Continuing campaigns to monitor and confront unlicensed entities that organize tourism programs or activities
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Central Administration of Tourism Companies, closed 10 unlicensed entities in Fayoum Governorate that were practicing the activities of organizing tourism programs and Hajj and Umrah trips without obtaining the necessary licenses from the Ministry. The closure procedures were implemented in cooperation with the Tourism and Antiquities Police Sector and the Directorate of Tourism. Fayoum Security.
This comes in implementation of the directives of Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, for the Ministry to continue intensifying its expanded monitoring campaigns nationwide to monitor and confront these crimes. Unlicensed entities that work in the tourism sector in order to regulate work in this sector, tighten follow-up and control of various tourism activities, confront any violations, and ensure the quality of services provided to all visitors and tourists, whether Egyptian or foreign, and to preserve the rights of tourism companies and to support the national economy.
For her part, Samia Sami, Head of the Ministry’s Central Administration for Tourism Companies, explained that these entities were relying on advertisements through social media to organize Hajj and Umrah trips without obtaining the necessary licenses, and were collecting money. A large number of citizens in exchange for services that do not meet the required standards, which exposes them to scams and scams. The Committee for Confronting Illegitimate Entities of the Central Administration of Tourism Companies has issued legal seizure reports against these entities, and they have been referred to the relevant police departments for the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures against their owners.The Tax Authority has also been notified of the names of the illegal entities. Legality and its whereabouts, in preparation for taking the necessary tax measures against the owners of these violating activities.
The head of the Central Administration of Tourism Companies confirmed that the process of monitoring all tourism activities continues in all governorates of the Republic through surprise inspection committees. Calling on citizens not to deal with unlicensed entities and to rely only on tourism companies approved by the Ministry.
