Ministry of Health: Closing a dermatology clinic run by foreigners in violation of licensing requirements in Nasr City

The Ministry of Health and Population is completing the implementation of the second phase of field visits to medical facilities in all governorates, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, in an effort to communicate directly with citizens, raise the efficiency of medical facilities and provide quality health service. And monitoring and addressing any deficiencies in the level of medical service.

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that as part of the implementation of the second phase of the field traffic campaign, which targeted Cairo Governorate, A committee was formed from the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions, Licensing and Free Treatment in Cairo, the Egyptian Medicine Authority, and the Supply Investigations Department at the Ministry of Interior, where a dermatology and reproductive clinic was closed, in violation of the requirements of the licenses issued to it, on Hassan Al-Maamoun Street in the eastern Nasr City area.

 

For his part, Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing, pointed out that the committee monitored many violations, including “that the clinic was issued a license to operate as an orthopedic clinic, and operates in a specialty that violates the requirements.” licenses, and employs unqualified foreign workers, and the medical profession is practiced without a license, and infection control policies are not implemented, while a number of smuggled medicines not registered with the Egyptian Medicine Authority, and others of unknown origin were seized inside the clinic,” stressing that a number of smuggled medicines were seized immediately. A decision to close the clinic in order to ensure the health and safety of patients.

 

Zaki stressed the Ministry’s keenness to tighten control over private medical facilities to ensure that they meet health requirements, and that the facility and its employees obtain the necessary licenses. Applying infection control standards and reviewing the validity of medicines, stressing that all legal measures will be taken against violations detected during traffic.
