Minister of Housing: Implementing 5,194 housing units for low- and middle-income people and 1,262 Nubian homes in Aswan.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, announced that 5,194 housing units for low- and middle-income people have been implemented and are being implemented within the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.” In a number of governorates, and 1,262 Nubian homes in Aswan, through the Construction and Contracting Sector of the Ministry of Housing during the year 2024.
Al-Sherbiny explained that the goal of these projects is to provide housing units for limited people. And middle-income people within the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” providing job opportunities, in addition to working to meet the desires of citizens to own their own suitable housing that provides quality of life, and solve the problems of some Nubians are replacing and renovating their homes that pose a threat to their lives, according to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The Minister of Housing indicated that the presidential initiative is “housing for all Egyptians.” It aims to provide housing units for citizens in proportion to their income, as the Ministry’s policy in providing housing units for all segments of society is based on 3 axes, which are making luxury units available to the highest income people at their real price, supporting middle-income people by providing suitable units for them, and supporting the low-income segment by providing Social housing units supported for them.
In turn, Engineer Hisham Darwish, Supervisor of the Construction and Contracting Sector at the Ministry of Housing, explained that the units that were worked on in the low-income axis included 950 units in Kafr El-Sheikh, and 936 units in Port Said – Port Fouad, 29 units in the Aswan Kom Ombo center, medium housing units included 360 units in the Red Sea, and 2856 units in Port Fouad in Port Said. He added that the implementation and upgrading of 72 Nubian homes has been completed, and another 1,190 homes are being completed in the Nubia Center of Egypt in Aswan Governorate, pointing out that the sector is carrying out site coordination work, drinking water and sewage connections, and electricity cables, in addition to implementing service buildings in some building sites. .
