The White Lotus season three has finally come to an end, culminating in an explosive 90-minute episode.
Although many fans loved the final episode, others felt like the season had a whole lot of uncomfortable themes and build-up for a whole lot of nothing.
While you certainly can’t please everyone, the series creator, Mike White, had some pretty choice words for viewers who felt the series had “no plot”.
“Part of me is just like, ‘Bro, this is the vibe’,” he said on The White Lotus Official Season 3 Podcast.
“If you don’t want to go to bed with me, get out of my bed. I’m edging you!”
The White Lotus is known for its anxiety-inducing scenes and emotionally charged build-up. But for some, it’s a ~a lot~.
As far as White is concerned, if you can’t stand the rampant anxiety heat, get out of the kitchen.
Or, in other words: “If you don’t want to be edged, get out of my bed”.
“Don’t be a bossy bottom,” he said.
Iconic, honestly.
Truth be told, the cast knew that there would be mixed reactions to the juicy final episode.
In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Charlotte Le Bon, who played Chloe, warned that “people are going to hate Mike White” before the episode aired.
However, Mike wasn’t deterred.
“My hope is that it’ll feel like a cathartic sad or a satisfying sad and not a “What the fuck?” sad, but people are going to have a million different opinions,” he said.
“You just hope you stick the landing.”
If you ask me, he certainly did.
