Mickey Rourke Booted From Big Brother House After Continued ‘Unacceptable Behaviour’

American actor Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave Celebrity Big Brother UK following his continued use of inappropriate language and “unacceptable behaviour”.

“Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior,” a spokesperson for the show told Variety.

The incident that resulted in Rourke’s departure involved a dispute between fellow contestant Chris Hughes

No physical fight occurred between them, but Rourke allegedly used “threatening and aggressive” language against Hughes.

Rourke received a formal warning from the Big Brother production team earlier last week following his controversial comments towards contestant Jojo Siwa

Rourke stated that he was going to “vote the lesbian out real quick”, a comment directed towards Siwa.

“That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning,” Siwa said in response.

He also stated that he “needed a f**”, (referring to a cigarette) and then gestured towards Siwa and said “I’m not talking about you”.

Rourke also said that he could “make [Siwa] straight” (ew) and that he would “tie [her] up” (EW), which led to Siwa to break down in tears and be comforted by Hughes.

Rourke was reprimanded for his actions and later apologised to Siwa for his comments.

“I apologise. I don’t have dishonorable intentions. I’m just talking smack, you know,” Rourke said to Siwa.

“All housemates receive respect and inclusion training and an extensive briefing from the Big Brother senior team to prepare them for living in the house and to set out Big Brother’s expectation for appropriate behavior and language,” a spokesperson for ITV, the show’s broadcaster, said in response to Rourke’s controversial language.

“Housemates are monitored 24 hours a day and instances of inappropriate behavior are dealt with appropriately and timely.”

Rourke was also criticised for his behaviour towards show cohost AJ Odudu when he entered the Big Brother House on Monday, where he grabbed her waist and attempted to drag her inside with him.
