Michael Schumacher’s son Mick dismisses claims he’s SPLIT from his model girlfriend, after she was invited into inner circle who are allowed to see his dad, 11 years on from tragic skiing accident
Mick Schumacher has rubbished rumours that he’s split from his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic.
Schumacher, 25, who recently left Mercedes after two years as their reserve driver, went public in his relationship with the model in August 2023.
They are often seen soaking up the sun on tropical islands or dressed to the nines at glitzy hotels and restaurants and have even been spotted by eagle-eyed fans walking hand-in-hand at a number of F1 races.
In fact, it was even reported that Hasanovic is one of the very few people to be allowed access to Mick’s father Michael, whose health condition has never been revealed to fans since he was involved in a skiing accident in December 2013 that left him in a medically induced coma.
However, reports had circulated over the past few weeks that their relationship had come to an end.
But, Mick took to social media at the start of the New Year to resoundingly shut the speculation down.

Reports had circulated, but Schumacher shared a photo of the couple celebrating the New Year
It has been reported Hasanovic is one of the few people allowed access to Mick’s dad Michael, whose health condition has never been revealed since a skiing accident in December 2013
Sharing a photo of himself and Hasanovic looking loved up, Mick added the caption: ‘Happy New Year everyone, may 2025 bring you everything you desire.’
The snap was in black and white, with the couple cuddled up together and Hasanovic looking lovingly into her partner’s eyes.
Fans were quick to lap up the update, with several posting supportive messages in the comments.
German outlet Bild have previously claimed the Schumacher family are ‘smitten’ with the model, who is regularly included in their family plans and was photographed with Michael’s wife Corinna at the FIA World Endurance Championship in Qatar in March.
The same outlet added that she is the only one of his girlfriends who has ever been allowed to visit Michael.
The two have never shied away from declaring their love to the world and have also been seen enjoying double dates with Mick’s long-time friend, F1 driver Esteban Ocon, and his girlfriend.
In March of 2024, the model similarly paid touching tribute to her boyfriend’s father after posting a series of photos to her Instagram showing her handbag emptied out onto a bed.
In a sweet nod to Schumacher, Laila showed off her AirPod case which was emblazoned with two signs; the first being a ‘rock on’ hand gesture, and the second a circle with the number 47 in the middle.

Fans were quick to notice the significance of the number which was once Schumacher’s racing number.
Michael, who hasn’t appeared publicly since his accident, is cared for by a team of medical staff and his wife Corinna at their Lake Geneva home, but little has been revealed about his condition.
Meanwhile, the relationship update from Mick comes when his future in the sport his family have been known for is uncertain.
It was revealed in November that he will leave Mercedes at the end of the season after two years as their reserve driver, although the decision was said to be his.
The 25-year-old joined the constructor in 2023 as back-up to Lewis Hamilton and George Russell having lost his spot on the grid with Haas.
He had driven for Haas between 2021 and 2022, finishing 19th in the world championship in 2021 – despite scoring no points – and 16th in 2022 with 12 points to his name.
After news of his departure from Toto Wolff, Mercedes’ CEO and team principal, paid tribute to Schumacher.
‘Mick’s hard work, diligence, and determination in his role as reserve driver has been vital for the team over the past two years,’ he said.
Hasanovic was born in Bosnia but grew up in Denmark before moving to Copenhagen at 19
The relationship update comes with Mick facing an uncertain F1 future after leaving Mercedes
‘From his work in the simulator, testing of various cars, and being part of the trackside team, we couldn’t have asked for any more from him.
‘From day one, he fitted into the team with ease and has become an incredibly well-liked colleague for everyone at Brackley and Brixworth.
‘However, Mick is first and foremost a racing driver. We have seen from both his time in F1, and this year with his performances in the World Endurance Championship, that he is a racer of an incredibly high calibre and one that deserves to be competing in the very best championships.
‘As he moves on to his next challenge, I would like to thank Mick personally for his contribution to our team and we all wish him the very best in his future endeavours.’
Schumacher, meanwhile, added: ‘I am grateful to Toto and the entire Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team for the insight I have gained over these two years. They have undoubtedly made me a more experienced racing driver because I have got to know the engineering side better.
‘But watching these cars race and not sitting in the cockpit myself is tough. I want to get back to focusing 100 per cent on racing. I want to be fully committed to the sporting side of motorsport.
‘Ultimately, it is racing that you want to do as a driver, it is racing that gives you that feeling you love.’
