Meghan Markle has been slammed over her decision to postpone the release date of her upcoming Netflix show amid the Los Angeles fires.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting the premiere of the Duchess of Sussex’s new cooking series, entitled With Love, Meghan, which was set to debut on January 15.
But now, she has announced that the show has been pushed by nearly two months so that she could ‘focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires.’
The highly anticipated series will now come out on March 4.
‘I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,’ Meghan said in a statement to People magazine on Sunday.
Afterwards, people took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on her decision.
And while some applauded the mother-of-two, 43, others accused her of only doing it because she didn’t want her show to be ‘overshadowed.’
‘She doesn’t want to be overshadowed by anything,’ one person wrote.

‘How is the airing of this completed program taking their focus?’ someone else questioned. ‘It’s done.’
‘Well she they already filmed and edited that show. It’s not like they’re filming it now… and they didn’t even film it in her house. She’s scared of the backlash,’ another user suggested.
‘Guessing Netflix postponed it and Meghan is pretending to be involved in the decision,’ a fourth tweet read.
A fifth said, ‘Oh how very magnanimous of her thinking of others and QUIETLY doing the “right thing.”‘
Others, however, praised Meghan over her decision.
‘Good move. I’m relieved,’ one person wrote.
‘First sensible decision she’s made,’ another said.
Meghan, 43, grew up in Los Angeles, and now resides in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two kids, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

It’s currently estimated that around 4,000 to 5,000 structures have also been damaged or destroyed, including the homes of Hollywood A-listers.
The Sussexes have rallied around victims by making donations to relief efforts through their Archewell Foundation and have opened their $29 million Montecito mansion to loved ones who were forced to evacuate.
Earlier this week, Meghan and Harry issued a statement urging people to ‘check in’ on disabled and elderly neighbors.’
Taking to their website, Sussex.com, they said: ‘In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life.
‘A state of emergency has been issued. If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas.’
They posted a link to various charities they’ve previously worked with and asked supporters to ‘help those in need.’
They also encouraged people to ‘open their home’ to others affected and to donated to American Red Cross.
‘If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,’ continued the couple.
‘And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.’
