
A mass stabbing incident has occurred at a Walmart in Michigan, leaving multiple people injured.
Traverse City’s fire department confirmed to Daily Mail that they were on the scene, where an investigation is ongoing, but declined to confirm any further details.
According to witnesses, shoppers fled for their lives after a suspect brandished a knife inside the Walmart Supercenter on Crossing Circle just after 5pm.
Police were seen interviewing workers from the supermarket across the street following the incident. Many were still wearing their Walmart overalls.
One eyewitness posted to X how the incident occurred near the pharmacy counter with many of the victims said to be elderly.

The Michigan State Police released a statement regarding the incident:
‘Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a multiple stabbing incident at the Walmart in Traverse City. The suspect is in custody, details are limited at this time.
A Walmart corporate spokesperson, Joe Pennington, said by email that the company was ‘working with police and defer questions to them right now.’
Officials say there is no longer any danger to the public at this time.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area as the investigation remained ongoing, state police said.
Traverse City is about 250 miles northwest of Detroit.
