It was decided that the star of the Egyptian swimming team, Marwan El-Kamash, will be absent due to a shoulder injury he sustained in the 1500-meter race at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Marwan El-Kamash had sustained a shoulder injury during the 800-meter freestyle race at the Paris Olympics, after which he completed the race with great difficulty. Rose Al-Youssef portal learned that the Egyptian swimmer is waiting to set a date for a surgical operation in the coming days to treat the injury he sustained in his shoulder.

Egyptian swimmer Marwan El-Kamash won the title of "Best African Athlete" after the African Games qualifying for the Olympics, which were held in Ghana during the period from March 8 to 24.

Marwan El-Kamash managed to achieve five gold medals and two silver medals in the African Games competitions, making it the greatest achievement for an Egyptian and African athlete in all sports.

El-Kamash received more than one honor after his return to Egypt following the great performance he showed during the African Games. It is noteworthy that Marwan El Kamash has achieved many accomplishments at the Arab, African and continental levels for Egypt during the past period, in addition to qualifying for the Paris Olympics, which will be his third consecutive Olympic participation, creating a new hope for Egyptian swimming in major international forums.
